No, absolutely not you don't have to appear for JEE mains exam if you are applying for engineering Colleges through PMSSS. But if you want to study in IITs and NIT's then you must have appeared and qualified the JEE MAINS/ADVANCE exam to be eligible to take PMSSS for IIT's/NIT's.
